In addition to his role with BCVA, Matt is Senior Vice President and General Counsel of a Dayton based investment firm where he provides counsel regarding public, private, and alternative investments. As a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, Matt guides clients through pre and post divorce financial planning as well as asset, investment, and retirement division.
An attorney for nearly twenty years, Matt’s law practice has focused primarily on divorce/family law and business litigation issues. A separation of business partners shares many similarities with a divorce between husband and wife. Similarly, common issues arise when a family business is part of a marital or probate estate. Matt’s broad experience enables him to identify and resolve pitfalls that exist in the simplest to the most complex circumstances. Utilizing a proactive approach, Matt counsels his clients to avoid negative life events through proper personal and business planning.
As an experienced multifamily real estate investor and manager, Matt enjoys counseling those who are entering or already active in real estate investment. He also serves as a mentor to budding entrepreneurs and supports the local startup business and angel investment communities.
Matt is passionate about philanthropy and serves on a number of local non-profit boards and foundations. Placing special importance on children in our community, Matt serves as a Guardian ad Litem and is actively involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters, Dayton Childrens Hospital, and the Rotary Youth Exchange Student Program. In addition, Matt volunteers for the Greater Dayton Volunteer Lawyers Project and the Montgomery County Domestic Relations Court.
